Our second trip to the British Virgin Islands in a nutshell

Our route to the British Virgin Islands was Helsinki-Paris-New York-San Juan-Tortola. We had to stay overnight in San Juan. Our hotel was the Best Western at the airport, which was ideal for us after such a long day.

We chartered a catamaran from Pro Valor. We've never chartered or sailed a catamaran before, so we took an extra captain with us for half a day to show how it's different from sailing a monohull.

Pro Valor's headquarters is in Fat Hog's Bay, which is about a five minutes' drive from the Beef Island airport.  Rite Foodmarket was just a 3-minute-walk from there so we did the provisioning there.
On our first day we went to the Baths, which is a wonderful place.  The beach was actually closed as it was too windy, so we took the dinghy close, jumped to the water and swam to the shore.

We had our first Bushwacker in the Baths, it tasted so good after I swallowed quite many waves of that salty water.

From the Baths we went to Marina Cay. There are a couple of restaurants and a shop for clothes and souvenirs.

Our next visit was to the Bitter End Yacht Club, where we went for some drinks at the Saba Rock (small island) and we had dinner at BEYC.

In the morning we started a long sail to Jost Van Dyke, where we tried to moor in a couple of harbors but it was already so late in the afternoon that all the mooring balls were taken. So we had to go to Cane Garden Bay. That was one of my favourite places last time. There was much more going on at this time. There's an excellent grocery store about a five minutes' walk from the beach. It's a small one but there's everything there.
A new acquaintance was the Soper's Hole. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and of course other sailors but also several moorings.

From Soaper's Hole we went to The Bight which was really full, but we were lucky to get a mooring ball. Before that we went snorkling in the Indians.  We also went for a walk. It was too hot for me, I prefer it by the sea.
The party in Willie T, which is a "pirate" boat at the bay, was full of crazy drunkards. You have to be really careful with your dinghy there.

The last place where we went to was Trellis Bay, which is again one of my favourites.

Our return flight was heavy stuff, we left the Beef Island in the afternoon to San Juan, then to New York and only half an hour and a flight to London.  The arrival in London was in the morning and we were in Helsinki in the afternoon. And two hours on the bus...

When I came home, I heard that I have won a trip to Istanbul, it's a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday anytime between May - August, two persons and a three-star hotel!
